Whitney Taylor, Twisted
Whitney Taylor (Brianne Howey)
On teen drama mystery-thriller Twisted, Whitney was a minor character, introduced when she showed up at her father’s doorstep after getting kicked out of boarding school. She met regular character Lacy when she enrolled at her new High School, and the two became fast friends.
Despite both of them being minors, Whitney invited Lacy, who had recently broken up with her boyfriend, to go clubbing with her in New York City to blow off some steam. When Lacy got hit on by a guy at the club, Whitney stole his phone and called his wife to let her know of her husband’s behavior. On their walk home Lacy brought up her boyfriend and said she was over boys, and Whitney kissed her, taking her by surprise.
They were interrupted by a call from Whitney’s dad, who had been been arrested. Whitney was thrown out of her dad’s house and moved in with Lacy. They finally got a chance to talk about their kiss, and Whitney told Lacy she was a lesbian and had never been with a boy, while Lacy said she didn’t know how she felt about the kiss. The next night Lacy invited her to sleep in her bed and then decided to kiss her. It didn’t last long, and Lacy eventually admitted she was still thinking about Danny, which Whitney said she understood.
Whitney and Lacy continued being friends until Whitney’s mom arrived in the season finale, to tell her she needed to come back home with her. She also revealed that Whitney was a notorious liar who would say and do anything to manipulate things her way. Her mom continued saying the reason Whitney was kicked out of boarding school was because she got caught naked with a boy.
Whitney explained to an unhappy Lacy the boy was the Dean’s son and she needed him to get her a weekend pass. The episode and season ended with a cliffhanger revealing that Whitney and her dad were grifters. The series was then cancelled after the first season, leaving the character’s storyline unfinished, and it’s unsure whether Whitney ever really cared about Lacy.
