On Dante’s Cove, an LGBT-focused supernatural soap opera, Van was a novice witch who could command magical powers. In Season 1, she was focused on learning about magic, while her gay friends seemed to have all the fun.
In Season 2, the show introduced Van’s girlfriend, Michelle, who disapproved of magic use and gave Van an ultimatum to leave Dante’s Cove with her. When Van cast a spell to make her forget the magic, the spell backfired, wiping out Michelle’s memory of Van completely. An amnesiac Michelle was tormented by memory flashes of their time together and eventually confronted Van with a photograph of the two of them. Van denied knowing her, and Michelle ended up drowning herself in the ocean.
Meanwhile, Van moved on and continued to learn about her magical powers with the help of the witch Diana and Diana’s sister Grace. After Michelle committed suicide, Van sought Diana’s guidance to bring Michelle back, and Diana gave Van the ability to travel back in time and save Michelle. Van was killed off between Seasons 2 and 3 by the resurrected Michelle who had been possessed by a mysterious shadow force.
