Susan Grant was introduced in Season 3 of medical drama Private Practice as Bizzy Forbes’ secret lover. Bizzy was still married to her husband, despite having had a relationship with Susan for 20 years. When Bizzy’s daughter, and lead character Addison caught the two of them kissing, Bizzy finally came out to her family.
Bizzy and Susan returned in Season 4 when Susan fell ill, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and had to undergo surgery. After Susan’s surgery Bizzy told Addison that she had finally divorced her father and was marrying Susan.
The two got married in episode 12, “Heaven Can Wait”, but Susan’s cancer had come back, she signed a DNR, and at the end of the wedding Susan collapsed. She then died in the next episode and a devastated Bizzy killed herself.
