Sadie (June Diane Raphael)

Sadie was a minor recurring character introduced as Jess’s friend in Season 1. Her sexuality is often played for jokes, one of the running gags about Sadie is that she is an expert of sexual pleasure as she is a lesbian and a gynecologist.

In the Season 2 episode “Eggs”, Sadie celebrates five years of marriage with her wife, Melissa, and the two also reveal that Sadie is expecting their first child. During the evening one of their friends ask Sadie for advice on female pleasure. He later shows up at her OB-GYN office where Sadie start showing him illustrations of the female anatomy, but Schmidt soon take over the conversation explaining what he would do. Sadie finds herself turned on by the conversation, telling Schmidt that “It’s the baby hormones. They are not as gay as me”

Sadie had a couple of very minor appearances in season 3, and came back for a brief scene in the Season 6 finale when she called Cece and told her she was pregnant.
