Naomi Flynn, American Gothic
Naomi Flynn (Maureen Sebastian)
Naomi was introduced in Season 1 as main character Alison’s mayoral campaign manager. They had an ongoing affair, which Alison ended after her husband Tom demanded it, and after a blackmail attempt from a campaign intern and an ultimatum from Naomi, Alison fired her from the campaign and Naomi left. Alison was shown as being regretful about the end of their affair.
Naomi came back in the last two episodes of the season and she helped Alison win the election for mayor, which allowed them to reconcile their relationship after Alison told Naomi that things didn’t work out with Tom. In the epilogue at the end of the season finale, set a year later, Alison and Naomi are together, taking care of Alison’s daughters and running the mayor’s office.
The series was cancelled after one season, but the showrunner had stated that even in case of a renewal, each season would feature a different family and a different setting, meaning that Naomi’s and Alison’s story arc was concluded in either case.
