Linda Haverford, Shut Eye
Linda Haverford (KaDee Strickland)
On the Hulu drama series Shut Eye, Linda Haverford is the show co-protagonist, married to series lead and failed Vegas magician/con artist Charlie, and is portrayed as ambitious and manipulative. Linda and Charlie run a psychic office and have a somewhat open marriage, although Linda is shown to care a lot about Charlie and grieves the end of his career as a magician.
In 1×01, Gina was introduced as a hypnotist that Linda as considering hiring to help herself and her husband run their psychic business. During her job interview, Gina attempted to use hypnosis to get Charlie to hire her, however, Linda and Charlie suspected she was after something else and tortured Gina instead, Charlie holding her down while Linda burned her with a cigarette. At the end of the episode, Gina and Linda had sex, though without a clear explanation of how they had gotten to that point.
A complicated relationship developed, their affair continued for much of the rest of the season, and they had several sex scenes and intimate pillow talk in Gina’s apartment. As they grew closer, Linda bought groceries for Gina and seemed to be prepared to leave her husband to be with her (“I love my husband and I love my son and I want you too. And I’m gonna figure out a way to make that happen.”).
However, their relationship quickly soured in 1×08 when Gina suddenly appeared to betray Linda by planning steal Linda and Charlie’s money and leave town. She was interrupted by series villain Fonzo and killed off-screen. At the end of the episode, Linda and Charlie found Gina buried in a rose bush in the backyard of a house. Actress Emmanuelle Chriqui appeared in again in 1×09, but only as Gina’s dead body, as she was undressed and her body was cleaned in a bathtub.
The show was renewed for season 2.
