Lauren Heller, Younger
Lauren Heller (Molly Bernard)
Lauren is a free-spirited young Jewish journalist, hooked on social networks. Although she doesn’t identify as anything specific, her mother noted in Season 1 that, “she’ll sleep with anything.” Lauren and 40-something lesbian artist Maggie became fast friends in the first season and kissed in the episode “Hot Mitzvah” (1×11).
In Season 2, they became girlfriends, though their their relationship was mostly off-screen and in the background during sweeps. On the show, they didn’t have a real story arc as a couple after it was revealed that they were in a relationship, with little interaction and few mentions of each other to other characters. It was revealed that Lauren also had an ex-girlfriend of 11 weeks, Iris, though she was never shown on screen.
By the third episode of season 3, Lauren told Maggie that she cheated on her with a man who used to be her childhood friend, and Maggie told Lauren to go and pursue a relationship with him, putting an end to her and Lauren’s relationship.
In the season 3 finale Lauren and her boyfriend Max moved in together. Younger was renewed for a Season 4, starting June 28th, 2017.
