Katherine Mayfair, Desperate Housewives

Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany): Katherine Irma Mayfair was one of the main and titular characters of Desperate Housewives. A former victim of domestic abuse, perpetrated by her first husband Wayne Davis, a corrupt policeman, Katherine moved to Wisteria Lane in Season 4, hoping to get away from her rough lifestyle and be happy.
She moved in with her 2nd husband, Adam Mayfair and daughter from her first marriage, Dylan Mayfair. She and Adam separated and Adam moved out after Katherine found out he had an affair, and they eventually divorced. Katherine also ended up killing ex-husband Wayne when he showed up at Wisteria Lane. In Season 5 Katherine started dating Mike, they moved in together and got engaged, and in the season finale left to get married in Vegas. Mike however left Katherine at the airport to go save his son. In season 6, it was revealed that Mike ended his relationship with Katherine and married Susan instead.
In the sixth season Katherine returned to Wisteria Lane, and developed a friendship with Robin Gallagher, a former stripper, who eventually moved in with Katherine. Katherine was surprised to learn that Robin was a lesbian and began to develop a physical attraction to her in addition to their emotional connection. Though Katherine was very confused by these new feelings, the two soon became sexually involved. When their relationship was made public, Katherine decided that she cared too much about what others thought and suggested that she and Robin take a vacation in Paris while they worked on defining their relationship. Robin agreed and the two left town that night.
In Season 8, Katherine returned to the series in the final episode, “Finishing the Hat,” where she revealed that she had made a lot of money in France but that she and Robin had broken up three months after arriving in Paris when Katherine decided she would rather focus on her professional life.
Katherine’s actress Dana Delany had hoped that Katherine and Robin would have been together in the end: “Marc and I had dinner and he asked me, he said, ‘I just have one question — do you want her to be gay or straight?’ I said, ‘Gay, please.’ He said, ‘OK, that’s all I wanted to know,’” Dana recounted. “I’m hoping Robin and I are still together,” she added.
