Julia was a guest character in season 1, episode 3 of The Exorcist, and never shown on screen properly. A flashback showed regular character Katherine driving home with her girlfriend, Julia, from a party, talking about what they each liked about the other. They crashed into a lamppost, and Julia died as a result of the crash.
Julia had less than a minute of screen time in the show and existed only to establish Katherine as a lesbian and explain her depression.
