Joyce Wischnia (Jane Lynch)
Joyce was a recurring character between seasons 2 and 6, a gay-rights attorney who represented Tina and Bette during their separation case in season 2, courted Tina, and then in season 3 became Bette’s attorney when she filed for sole custody against Tina. In season 4 she served as a mediator to settle shared custody.
She had an on-and-off relationship with Phyllis Kroll during seasons 4, 5 and 6, after having recused herself as Phyllis’s divorce attorney because of their romantic interest. She and Joyce were still together in the series finale.

L word writers completely failed on this one. Ethically, Joyce would be barred from representing Bette after having represented Tina previously. No way in hell could she have served as a mediator for the two later on.
