You Me Her is an American television show that revolves around a suburban married couple, Emma and Jack Travarsky, entering a three-way romantic relationship with Isabelle “Izzy” Silva. The series is promoted as TV’s “first polyromantic comedy”
Izzy is a graduate student in Psychology and also works as escort. She was hired first by Jack, and then by Emma, and grew attracted to them both. Jack and Emma decided to hire her and take turns, although Izzy was hurt by the way they objectified her. Throughout the season, Izzy was also involved with Andy, an ex-client/boyfriend she was mostly stringing along – she later admitted to Jack and Emma that she used him to make them jealous.
Izzy eventually broke things off with Andy, tore up the check from Jack and Emma, and started a polyamorous affair with them. When it ended because Jack and Emma had careers and neighbors to think about, Izzy, who was falling in love with both, was heartbroken and wanted to leave town. In the season finale, Jack and Emma stopped her at the airport, rom-com style.
The second season picked up right after the airport scene, with Emma inviting Izzy to move in, coming out as a “thruple” to their friends and neighbors, and getting matching tattoos while drunk/high. Most of the season dealt with Jack feeling left out and his insecurity and jealousy, often encouraged by his friends or brother.
He moved out of the house for several episodes, and also ran into an ex-girlfriend, and most of the plot revolved around Emma and Izzy trying to reassure him that they wanted him back.
Izzy’s screen-time was mostly spent with her getting drunk and high, smoking pot 3 times a day, while trying to keep the threesome together – Emma had her on a cleansing diet, but Izzy just hid in the shed to smoke. In episode 2×04, the pregnancy storyline was brought back: Jack and Emma continued trying to have a baby, and Izzy also had a pregnancy scare, after which she realized she wanted to have a baby with them.
In the final two episodes, Jack bought a new place for the three of them and “proposed” asking them to spent their lives with him, and start a family. Izzy also surprised them with an appointment with an IVF clinic the following day. Emma on the other hand was visibly freaking out, and in the end took the job offer in Seattle. The last scene of the season was her getting on a private plane after she texted Jack and Izzy to let them know.
The show was renewed for season 3, to air in 2018.
