Gina Tribbiani (Drea de Matteo): In the short-lived Friends sitcom spin-off Joey, Gina Tribbiani was the bisexual elder sister of the titular character and described as temperamental and promiscuous. Though she had a child with male character Jimmy and married him in the second season, her same-sex attraction was never shown on screen but was only used as the punch line in a series of jokes.
In “Joey And The Holding Hands” (2×21), Gina suggestively flirted with Joey’s girlfriend. When Joey told Gina that his girlfriend is wild in bed, Gina acted in a sexually suggestive matter towards her, saying that she and Joey’s girlfriend should hang out more and get drunk, also asking her if she had seen Wild Things and referencing the movie’s famous lesbian kiss scene. When Joey stepped in by pulling Gina away from his girlfriend, he referenced gay conversion therapy in a joking manner by saying “Hey, I thought mom and dad sent you to camp get over that.”
