On the prequel to Spartacus, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, Gaia was introduced as a social-climbing Roman woman. She was depicted as adventurous, manipulative, and with a reputation for seducing married men. Gaia first appeared at a marketplace where she was spotted by her old friend, main character Lucretia. It turned out Gaia’s husband had died and she was now searching for a new one. Gaia and Lucretia grew close once again and the two became intimate. At a later time, Lucretia’s husband Batiatus joined in and they engaged in threesomes.
Later, Gaia decided to seduce Tullius, a rich merchant, to keep him from causing trouble for Batiatus and Lucretia. However, he killed Gaia instead by smashing her head in order to send a message to the House of Batiatus.
