Breakout Kings followed a task force assembled by the U.S. Marshals to capture prison escapees. Emmy Sharp was a convict sent to prison for setting fire to her pimp and killing him. She was sent to jail for 25 years. In season 2 episode 6, she attacked a female prison volunteer, Claire Lyons and then escaped during her transfer to court. When she showed up at Claire’s house and killed her husband, it was revealed the two were lovers and had been working together.
Emmy’s boyfriend then showed up and Emmy strangled Claire in the bathtub with him watching. She was killed at the end of the episode when the task force caught up to her.
Emmy and Claire were the only lesbian or bisexual characters on the show, and Emmy was the only female Breakout Kings main villain from season 2.
