Citlali was a prisoner the main characters were attempting to rescue from a detention center. Before 1×09 she was only mentioned by name, off screen, and appeared in other characters’ flashbacks.

In episode 1×09 as the main characters (including Citlali’s brother) were infiltrating the prison, we saw more flashbacks. She was a boxer, and part of the “Tepito Bitches”. In one of the flashbacks, she and her friend Canek were having drinks and she jokingly asked him what it felt like “to be fucking the woman of my dreams”. She added “you’d better treat her right”.

The woman in question, Zyan, made her way to the table and jokingly asked them: “Are you fighting over me? You can kill each other for all I care, I’m the one who gets to decide” and then, still as a joke, kissed Citlali.

By the end of the episode, Citlali was rescued, but her brother died, and after the years of torture she suffered as a prisoner, she grabbed a gun, killed the person in charge of the prison and then put the gun in her mouth and killed herself.
