Charlie was a recurring character in Season 11. She was a lesbian, and had a brief friendship and romance with Fiona Coyne.
After a brief flirtation, the two started a relationship, and when Charlie was left unable to pay rent, she moved in with Fiona. Charlie, who didn’t know about Fiona’s past alcoholism, surprised her with a homemade dinner and champagne which led to an anxious Fiona calling her mother and her therapist. As a result, Fiona broke up with Charlie and moved back in with her mother.
When Fiona later ran into Charlie they decided to go to prom together. However, when Charlie later introduced Fiona to her girlfriend, Meredith, Fiona was shocked and disappointed, leading to a relapse and she started drinking again. The following episode, Fiona cancelled off their prom plans and went back to rehab and Charlie left the show.
