In the series pilot of French political drama series Marseille, the character of Barbara was introduced while she was having sex with an unnamed woman but was interrupted when her roommate, Julia, came home.

She and Julia later discussed Barbara’s sexual relationships with women, and Barbara was depicted as a flirt who enjoyed a promiscuous life. Julia believed she just needed to “find the right man.” Later in the season, Barbara started a relationship with main character Lucas Barrès and her attraction towards women did not come up again.

Marseille was renewed for a second season, with the release date sometime in late 2017 or 2018.
