Anna Taggaro, One Tree Hill
Anna Taggaro (Daniella Alonso)
On the teen drama One Tree Hill, Anna Taggaro was a junior at Tree Hill High School who had left her boarding school after rumors concerning her sexuality were circulated. She initially grew close to Lucas Scott, whom she was to date briefly during the second season.
After their initial introduction, Anna and Lucas decided to take things slow, becoming ‘friends with potential,’ though when Anna offered Lucas sex after a formal dance, he turned her down due to not being in love with her. Lucas ended the relationship after realizing that he had feelings for another girl; however, the two remained friends and she eventually confided her sexuality to him.
Elsewhere, Anna formed a strong relationship with main cast character Peyton and kissed her after misreading the signs. When she discovered that her homophobic brother Felix wrote ‘dyke’ on Peyton’s locker, she turned him in, getting him expelled. She came out to him and stated how hurt she was by his use of the word.
In her final episode, Darby showed up at Anna and Felix’s house and Anna opened the door, revealing Darby to be the girl who Anna had a relationship with on her last school. Darby then told Anna about when she told her parents that she was gay, encouraging Anna to tell her parents about her own sexuality; Darby revealed that she thought her parents would love her less, but that it only brought them closer together. She hugged Anna and gave her a kiss on the cheek before leaving. When she was gone, Anna decided that she should stop running from who she is and comes out to her parents, and eventually leaving Tree Hill to re-join her previous school.
